Camelback Fundraising History
Founders Ron and Nancy Smith bring 40 years of experience and training to the business of helping conservative candidates and causes raise money to support their campaigns.
The story of Camelback Fundraising stretches all the way back to Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, AZ, which is where Ron and Nancy met on the school's track team.
Both Smiths learned the value of hard work from sports - Ron was an All-State hurdler and a quarterback on the football team and Nancy was a State Champion sprinter in the 400-meter dash and anchored the State Champion 400-meter relay team.
In addition, Nancy was a scholarship athlete where she went on to be the National Junior College champion in both the 400-meter Dash and again as anchor of the 4X400 meter relay team.
After high school, the Smiths took separate routes, but both ended up graduating from Northern Arizona University in the 1980's, where Ron received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Minoring in Public Relations and Nancy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, with a Minor in Health Science. The two married a short time later and went on to raise a family of six wonderful children and now have their first grandchild.
During the intervening years, the Smiths moved to the Mid-West to help run a family advertising business and then Ron accepted a job at a national direct mail company.
Over the course of his career, Ron sold more than $200 million in advertising, while also working in product development, marketing and communications. Nancy took care of the home-front, including heading up countless fundraisers for every school activity imaginable.
It was during their time in Ohio that both saw their beloved country slipping into socialism and even worse, and as a result, both became active in writing and broadcasting about the issues of the day.
When the lockdown hit, the Smiths moved back to the Valley and quickly became involved in local politics by starting Camelback Fundraising to help support those fighting for Arizona and for the Nation.
Driving the Smith's efforts on a daily basis are the words of Ronald Reagan who said, "If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth".
